A Love Story That's Worth the Tan Lines: Two Guys Fall in Love in Puerto Vallarta
Jack (from Toronto) and Luis (from Miami)
I met him on my first day in Puerto Vallarta, at the hotel pool. I was trying to perfect my tan and he was showing off his salsa moves. I couldn't help but stare at him as he twirled and dipped to the beat. He noticed me checking him out and sauntered over to introduce himself. I was smitten, but I tried to play it cool, not wanting to come off as too thirsty.
We quickly discovered that we had a lot in common and spent the rest of the trip exploring Puerto Vallarta together. From the moment we met, we knew there was something special between us. We walked along the Malecon, the famous beach boardwalk, hand in hand and talked about our lives, our families and our dreams.
We indulged in the local cuisine and drinks, sampling delicious seafood and tequila while enjoying the sunset. We also took a romantic boat ride, where we watched the whales breaching in the Bay of Banderas.
On our last night in Puerto Vallarta, I mustered up the courage to tell him how I felt. He was shocked, but also thrilled, and confessed that he had also been falling for me since the first day we met. I was overjoyed and we shared our first kiss under the stars on the beach.
We knew that we needed to make it work, so we made plans to see each other again soon. Now, we look back at that trip to Puerto Vallarta as the start of something special, a love story that began in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Age is Just a Number, unless you're trying to read a menu: A Love Story of an older man and a young guy
Frank and Taylor
So there I was, at the Starbucks near my place, trying to order my coffee without needing reading glasses when in walks this young hottie. I couldn't help but notice that he was checking out my age spots.
We started talking and soon I realized, this guy was smart, witty, and had more energy than a Duracell bunny. He was a graduate student and I was a businessman, I was old enough to be his daddy and he was young enough to be my son. But something clicked between us, maybe it was the way he made me feel like a teenager again or the way I could make him feel wise beyond his years.
We started dating and we had a blast, but I couldn't help but think about our age difference, I mean, I have a pension plan and he has student loans. But age is just a number, right?
We kept our relationship private, only sharing it with our closest friends and family, which was great because I didn't want to share him with anyone else. But eventually, our secret love story got out, and we had to face the music. Some people were cool with it, some were not, but who cares? We were happy and that's all that matters.
We went on to prove that age is just a number, and that love knows no bounds, especially when you're old enough to collect social security but still young enough to want to collect something else.
We've been together for a while now and I can say without a doubt, that youth may be wasted on the young, but age is wasted on the old. We're living happily ever after and proving that you're never too old to fall in love and make jokes about it.
Gay, Young and in Love: A Hilarious Coming of Age Story
Dylan and Carlos
I met him in the fall after high school, at a local gay club in Chicago. We knew each other since we were kids, but we never really talked before. I was there trying to dance my way out of my closet and he was there trying to drown out the noise of his conservative family.
We hit it off immediately, bonding over our shared love of drag and our struggles with coming out. We laughed and joked and I felt like I could be myself with him in a way I couldn't be with anyone else. He was my first gay friend, my first confidant, my first love.
We started dating and it was like a dream come true. I finally felt like I belonged, like I had a place in the world. But our journey wasn't easy, we had to face the challenges of being young gay men. We had to deal with judgment and discrimination, we had to learn to love ourselves and accept ourselves for who we are.
We had a lot in common, but we were also different in many ways. He was more confident and outgoing, while I was more reserved and introverted. He had the support of his family, while I was still trying to win over mine. But we helped each other grow, we learned from each other, and we supported each other.
We made mistakes along the way, we had our share of ups and downs, but we always came back to each other. We knew that we were better together than apart. And we still are, today.
We're proud to be gay, proud to be ourselves and we're not afraid to be who we are. We're growing up, and we're growing into ourselves, and we're doing it together. And that's the real love story, one of growing up, self-acceptance, and overcoming the challenges of being gay adult men.
